Preventing infections
Patients, family members and visitors can help prevent the transmission of infections. All visitors are required to wash their hands in order to prevent the spread of infection. Waterless hand gel may be used. Soap and water are necessary if hands become visibly dirty. Don’t be afraid to remind healthcare workers to wash their hands prior to providing care.
Visitors with cold symptoms are not allowed to visit patients.
Isolation
If you are visiting a patient that is in isolation, please follow the guidelines posted on the door to their room. Isolation guidelines are in place to help stop the spread of infection.
