The Children’s Hospital of New Orleans Sports Medicine program offers comprehensive care for kids and teens with sports-related injuries and conditions. Our Sports Medicine team consists of Pediatric Orthopedic Surgeons, Sports Medicine Specialists, and Certified Athletic Trainers. Children’s Hospital also has a Concussion Clinic, Rehabilitation Center, and on-site X-ray, CAT scan, and MRI services.
Patients will have access to the full array of orthopedic services offered through Children’s Hospital. In addition to outpatient services, emergency care, surgery, and other inpatient services and procedures are also available as needed. Our sports medicine team can help your young athlete return to playing their sport as safely and as quickly as possible.
Sports Medicine physicians are highly trained healthcare providers who
specialize in the musculoskeletal system and injuries and conditions related
to sports and physical activity. Our sports medicine team is trained in
age-appropriate techniques and extremely knowledgeable in treating pediatric
sports injuries and illnesses. With this, our approach to diagnosis, evaluation,
and treatment is tailored to the unique needs of growing athletes and
helps to create an effective and efficient care plan.

Athletic Trainers are multi-skilled health care professionals who collaborate with physicians to provide preventative services, emergency care, clinical diagnosis, therapeutic intervention, and rehabilitation of injuries and medical conditions. Children’s Hospital Sports Medicine team provides athletic training services to over 25 schools and recreational departments throughout the Southeast region. Our certified athletic trainers are hospital employees and are present at various practices, games, and events throughout the community.
