Allergy/Immunology Fellowship

Our two-year fellowship aligns its training requirements with the curricular framework developed by leaders in the field of Allergy and Immunology and in accordance with ACGME requirements. Fellows will gain extensive clinical experience in outpatient and inpatient settings amongst a team of supportive faculty, residents, and ancillary staff. In addition, fellows will further develop the multiple skills valued in academic medicine – teaching, research, quality improvement, and administration.

Pediatric Cardiology Fellowship

The Heart Center at Children’s Hospital of New Orleans is dedicated to developing pediatric cardiologists with the skills, education, and scholarly commitment to thrive in careers in either academic or private practice settings. Fellows will gain extensive clinical experience in inpatient management, cardiac ICU, interventional catheterization, electrophysiology, heart failure and transplant, imaging, and outpatient cardiology amongst a team of supportive faculty, residents, and ancillary staff. Fellows will also further develop the multiple skills valued in academic medicine – clinical expertise, teaching, research, and administration.

Pediatric Endocrinology Fellowship

Our three-year fellowship aligns its training requirements with the curricular framework developed by leaders in the field of Pediatric Endocrinology and in accordance with ACGME requirements. Fellows will gain clinical experience amongst a team of supportive faculty, residents, and ancillary staff. In addition, fellows will further develop the multiple skills valued in academic medicine – teaching, research, quality improvement, and administration. The fellow will spend his/her time in both inpatient and outpatient settings as well as provide consultation for patients from general pediatrics and subspecialty services, and will perform initial evaluation and supervise the special endocrinology testing procedures for patients in short stay. Fellows are also expected to engage in research practices and education augmented by didactic seminars, extramural conferences and workshops.

Pediatric Gastroenterology Fellowship

Our three-year fellowship aligns its training requirements with the curricular framework developed by leaders in the field of Pediatric Gastroenterology and Nutrition and in accordance with ACGME requirements. Fellows will gain extensive clinical experience in outpatient and inpatient settings amongst a team of supportive faculty, residents, and ancillary staff. In addition, fellows will further develop the multiple skills valued in academic medicine – teaching, research, quality improvement, and administration. In the first year, fellows complete 26 weeks of inpatient service and 13 weeks of inpatient service in both the second and third years. Throughout the fellowship, fellows are expected to complete twenty-four months of research, scholarly activity, or QI projects.

Pediatric Hematology Oncology Fellowship

Our three-year fellowship aligns its training requirements with the curricular framework developed by leaders in the field of Pediatric Hematology and Oncology and in accordance with ACGME requirements. Fellows will gain extensive clinical and research experience in outpatient and inpatient settings amongst a team of supportive faculty, residents, and ancillary staff. Fellows will also further develop the multiple skills valued in academic medicine – clinical expertise, teaching, research, and administration.

Pediatric Hospitalist Medicine Fellowship

Our two-year fellowship aligns its training requirements with the curricular framework developed by leaders in the field of Pediatric Hospital Medicine and in accordance with ACGME requirements. Fellows will gain clinical experience amongst a team of supportive faculty, residents, and ancillary staff. In addition, fellows will further develop the multiple skills valued in academic medicine – teaching, research, quality improvement, and administration. Training will include 50% clinical time, 50% research, systems and scholarship rotations, and room for electives in either area for the remaining time.

Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine Fellowship

Our three-year fellowship aligns its training requirements with the curricular framework developed by leaders in the field of Neonatology and in accordance with ACGME requirements. Fellows will gain extensive clinical experience in outpatient and inpatient settings amongst a team of supportive faculty, residents, and ancillary staff. In addition, fellows will further develop the multiple skills valued in academic medicine – clinical expertise, teaching, research, and administration. The three-year curriculum allows for protected research time as well as robust experiences in inpatient settings including a full spectrum of surgical patients and training in neonatal ECMO. Service at our participating sites prepares third year fellows to serve as acting attendings.

Pediatric Nephrology Fellowship

Our three-year fellowship aligns its training requirements with the curricular framework developed by leaders in the field of Pediatric Nephrology and in accordance with ACGME requirements. Fellows will gain clinical experience amongst a team of supportive faculty, residents, and ancillary staff. In addition, fellows will further develop the multiple skills valued in academic medicine – teaching, research, quality improvement, and administration. The 36-month training period is equally divided between clinical training and scholarly activity/research in order to allow the fellow to develop proficiency in research and scholarly activity alongside clinical skills.
