From heart surgeries to repair the hole in her heart to orthopedic surgeries to straighten the severe curve in her spine, Zoe dances through her treatments with joy. She leads a parade of staff and patient admirers who can’t help but join in her revelry. For her infectious cheer, this inspiring seven-year-old reigns as our Queen of the Krewe of Joy. Watching her parade through Children’s Hospital on one of her many
visits, you wouldn’t expect Zoe Reed to have persevered through
such a bumpy ride with her health. Her journey unfolded minutes after
her birth with complex medical issues stemming from Noonan’s syndrome,
a rare genetic disorder that led to cardiac and orthopedic issues.
