Kids’ Castle Designed with Input from The Parenting Center at Children’s Hospital

The Kids’ Castle, a new, free play space in Lakeside Shopping Center, was designed to keep parents and kids happy while having them stay in the mall longer. 

“It was a matter of finding the right sponsors and the right space,” said Lakeside Shopping Center’s general manager, Tricia Phillpott.

LCMC, parent company of Touro and Children’s, offered ideas and helped train the play-area staff. Children's Parenting Center will host discussion groups at the site and Touro helped with the design of rooms for nursing mothers, large restroom with standard and toddler-size toilets and a roomy diaper-changing area.
