A new day for Behavioral Health

On Wednesday, Children's Hospital moved 15 patients into the new Behavioral Health Center on campus. The transfer went smoothly, as leaders helped organize a plan to social distance the patients while bringing them to the new building a few patients at a time. Each patient and staff member also wore masks as an additional health precaution amid the coronavirus.

At Children’s Hospital New Orleans, we believe that healthy kids make healthy communities. 20% of the nation’s youth experience some form of mental illness, and Children’s Hospital is committed to addressing these behavioral health needs by providing a continuum of care including the expansion of inpatient capacity, increased services, and strategic collaborations with our sister LCMC Health hospitals and community partners.
