Back to school during COVID-19

What parents need to know as they send children back into classrooms, is more COVID-19 cases are inevitable. 

That's according to the Louisiana Department of Health and Children's Hospital New Orleans Chief Quality Office, Dr. Leron Finger.

"We’ve increased our test capacity over the past 5 months meaning we are testing more children so it’s not surprising we are finding more children with the virus," Dr. Finger says.

If the schools can follow the guidelines laid out by the Louisiana Department of Education, then experts say this will help lower the chances of spreading the virus. 

Some of those guidelines include the big three which are social distancing, universal masking, and hand hygiene.
