Children's Hospital New Orleans Specialty Care Center in Baton Rouge Now Offers Comprehensive Audiology Services

At Children’s Hospital New Orleans’ new 12,000 square foot Specialty Care Center in Baton Rouge, pediatric audiologists are now providing comprehensive diagnostic hearing evaluations for patients from birth to 21 years of age.

BATON ROUGE – Children’s Hospital New Orleans Specialty Care Center in Baton Rouge provides specialized pediatric healthcare for children across the Baton Rouge area, while providing easy access for families. The multi-specialty center is now offering audiology services by dedicated audiologists who diagnosis and treat hearing disorders for pediatric patients from birth to 21 years old.

Comprehensive audiological evaluations, including both objective and subjective testing measures, are offered for children of all ages and are catered to each child's developmental age.

Services include the unsedated Auditory Brainstem Response (ABR) testing, which tests a patient’s inner ear and brain pathways from birth to three months old. Audiology services also incorporate treatment of hearing loss which includes an evaluation of amplification needs.

Hearing aid fitting, device programming, device troubleshooting, and service repairs are also offered, and covered by most insurances including Medicaid. Children’s Hospital is proud to serve children who demonstrate hearing loss or auditory process disorders, helping them develop communication skills they will use throughout their lifetime.
