Pediatric Neurology

The Neurology Department at Children’s Hospital New Orleans provides inpatient and outpatient care for the evaluation, diagnosis, and implementation of therapies for neurologic disorders affecting the brain, nerves, muscles, and spinal cord. Our team of pediatric providers have advanced training and experience in treating the full spectrum of complex neurological disorders in infants, children, and adolescents.

Highlights of our program

  • Multidisciplinary teams – The pediatric neurologists participate in several multidisciplinary clinics at Children’s Hospital including the Cerebral Palsy Clinic, the Neuromuscular Clinic, the Muscular Dystrophy Clinic, and the Concussion Clinic. These clinics allow our providers from multiple specialties to work together to optimize treatment for each patient while allowing patients to see multiple providers at the same appointment.
  • Nationally recognized Epilepsy Center - The Epilepsy Center at Children’s Hospital New Orleans in partnership with the LSU health New Orleans Epilepsy Center is recognized by the National Association of Epilepsy Centers (NAEC)as an accredited Level 4 Center. Level 4 centers provide the more complex forms of intensive neurodiagnostic monitoring including extensive medical, neuropsychological, and psychosocial treatment.
  • Family-centered care – We recognize that pediatric neurological conditions are often present throughout childhood and can affect the whole family. Our team of nurse navigators, child life specialists, social workers and therapists collaborate to provide support for each patient and the patient’s caregivers.
