Hogs for the Cause Family Center
As a regional medical center for children, Children’s Hospital strives
to meet the needs of the families whose children come to us from across
the state and Gulf South region.
In October 2018, and in partnership with Hogs for the Cause, Children’s opened Hogs for the Cause Family Center to provide on-campus housing for families who live outside New Orleans and have a child who is receiving ongoing care at our hospital.
Features of the house
13 Family Suites with the following amenities:
- Private bathrooms
- Wi-Fi
- Flat screen TVs
- Mini refrigerators for breastfeeding mothers and to store medications
2 Family Lounges
- Recreational spaces with TV, games and activities on both floors
Kitchen Spaces
- Families will be able to cook their own meals during their stay
Laundry Room
- Washer and dryer for families to wash clothes

The Ronald McDonald House
In December 2022, Ronald McDonald House Charities of South Louisiana opened
the doors to its new home on the Children's Hospital New Orleans campus.
Previously located across town in the Mid-city neighborhood, the new space is 47% larger and exists to help ease the financial and emotional burdens families face as they access critical care for their children. The Ronald McDonald House offers free accommodations, volunteer-provided meals, transportation when needed, a food pantry and a support system like no other.
