We offer reasonable accommodations, including access to service animals, to ensure our programs and services are accessible to and usable by individuals with disabilities.
Service animals are welcome at Children's Hospital New Orleans and all of our clinics. We apply the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) requirements, which define a service animal as “one that is trained to do work or perform tasks for the benefit of a person with a disability.” Persons with service animals will be accommodated unless Children's Hospital formally determines such service animal constitutes a "direct threat" or requires a "fundamental alteration" of its facilities or services.
The City of New Orleans has implemented a roadwork and infrastructure restoration program called RoadworkNOLA which will affect access to Children's Hospital via Magazine St. The complex roadwork will likely stretch into 2023, so Children's Hospital will update this page as construction progresses. Be sure to check back here before driving to the hospital for updates on detours and reroutes, and please allow yourself extra time to get to your appointment given the delays this roadwork may cause.
