The Autism Center at Children’s Hospital New Orleans provides comprehensive, evidence-based assessment and treatment for children ages 18 months to 21 years with the diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).

The Medical Psychology Clinic (MPC) offers a short-term assessment and treatment model for medication management of attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and new onset depression and/or anxiety. The MPC provides assessment and treatment for children and adolescents ages 5 through 17. The goal of the MPC includes efficient stabilization of symptoms with eventual release to the pediatrician or, in some instances, a psychiatrist for longer-term medication management.
Referral process: Medical psychologists accept referrals specifically from a patient’s pediatrician or primary care physician. These referring physicians will assume ongoing medication management responsibility for the psychiatric condition after the youth is assessed and stabilized in the Medical Psychology Clinic.

The Psychology Department at Children’s Hospital provides evidence-based comprehensive evaluation and treatment of cognitive, emotional, and behavioral problems of childhood and adolescence.

Pediatric Neuropsychology at Children’s Hospital provides comprehensive, evidenced-based assessments and treatment for children and adolescents with a range of medical and neurological disorders that affect cognition and behavior. Conditions treated include: Brain Injury, Spina Bifida, Epilepsy, Genetic Conditions, Concussions, Brain Traumas, Premature Birth, Tourette’s Syndrome, Brain Infections (e.g. encephalitis), Fetal Alcohol Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, and Stroke.
